Aston American University has developed English courses to help people meet personal and job related standards from all over the world. By taking your next step to improve your English with Aston American University, you will gain sufficient knowledge to apply yourself in a variety of English settings such as: grammar, vocabulary, listening and reading comprehension, speaking, pronunciation, and writing. We understand what it takes to foster a personal and attentive learning environment that is flexible and accommodating. That is why prior to starting the English course with Aston American University, we assess your English abilities and place you in your most ideal learning level. Being in the appropriate level allows you to work on areas of improvement, gain the confidence you seek, and find success with your English proficiency.
Each week for 8 weeks, students will be tutored one-on-one online for 30 minutes as your certified instructor gives you their full and undivided attention. This means you can focus on practicing your pronunciation and comprehension without having to worry about any other student. In addition to your weekly 30-minute online sessions with your live tutor, developed course materials are available to supplement your learning goals. You can learn English at your own pace and privacy without even having to leave your home.
Learning Outcomes
a) Introduce themselves and hold a simple conversation to exchange personal information.
b) Use the structures of the present to talk about their own routines and daily lives.
c) Talk about events in the past such as their biography and personal anecdotes.
d) Describe places and location of objects using prepositions accurately.
e) Ask and respond questions regarding their daily life and events in the past.
f) Pronounce intelligible sentences and use the correct pronunciation of the past.
g) Talk about occupations and job descriptions.
English as a Second Language - Level 100: Beginner
Level 100 introduces students to the fundamental core aspects of the English language to include:
- Basic grammar
- Basic vocabulary
- Basic listening comprehension
- Basic speaking
- Basic pronunciation
- Basic reading comprehension
- Basic writing
Through a variety of learning modules, activities and assignments, students will be able to develop and practice their English skills in
each of the core areas of the English language. The beginning course includes real time office hours with a live instructor as well as personalized feedback on activities and assignments, which are graded by a certified ESL instructor. Note: All students will complete an assessment test prior to the course start date to help determine appropriate placement within varying course levels.
Academic Calendar
The 8-week online course will begin on the first week of each month (for new students). Students are required to study online three to four (3-4) hours per week and attend a weekly one-on-one live online session with their instructor. Assignments need to be completed prior to meeting with the instructor.

Terms and conditions upon Enrollment:
Once a student has signed the application form and confirmed their course start date with an Academic Adviser (by email or phone), no course refunds will be issued. If the student would like to reschedule the course, their adviser must be notified 48 hours or more before the course start date. Students cannot reschedule their course within 48 hours of the start date; they are able to delay their course start date for either one month (ESL and IELTS) or one term for Business courses. Further postponement of courses is not allowed.
