Fear is a natural part of life. We all face fears but how we address them dictates whether fear defines us for better or for worse.
1. Don’t avoid it:
The first part of understanding how to address your fear is to understand the existence of your fears. What are the underlying issues that cause your fears?
2. Imagine if the fear wasn’t there:
Ask yourself what your fear is preventing you to do. What would you do if you weren’t afraid? Sometimes, it’s transformational to see how fear can block a part of our happiness that is so close in reach. Then we realize that the gap between fear and happiness is only inches off the ground.
3. Break the cycle:
Fear of failure could cause failure, which creates a vicious emotional cycle. Replace those negative emotions with positive emotions based on positive experiences. Believe that you can break this cycle and your mind will start to take actions to do so.
4. Face it with others:
You don’t have to go at it alone. When you are able to talk about it, you are able to acknowledge it. Support from friends or loved ones is sometimes all we need to realize our potential to take action.
